Gabby La La’s debut CD on Les Claypool’s Prawn Song Records - Be Careful What You Wish For -makes her the first new artist on the label in a decade. Produced by Claypool himself (who also plays many of the instruments), the recordings of her original quirky songs mark the culmination of what has been a steady collaboration between the two. Wielding the sitar, electric ukulele, toy piano, accordion and Theremin, Gabby La La is a perfect example of eclectic creativity uncommon in today’s music. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts and a long time student of Ali Akbar Khan, Gabby presents a funky style, clever lyrics and refined musicianship. She has been compared to the likes of Bjork and Yoko Ono. Even at 5’3” her stage presence captivates audiences with cautionary tales of boogie men, dog walking, and leprechauns, compelling audiences to unleash their imaginations. "Besides being an accomplished Sitar player, Gabby La La utilizes Toy Piano, Ukulele, Theremin, Accordion and Butterfly-Guitar while tap dancing and singing like Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of OZ. She is a wonderful inspiration and I whole heartedly support her nomination for Secretary of State." -Les Claypool Be Careful What You Wish For... Track Listing: 1.
